My Engagement & My First Competition

Oh dear so I had my first bodybuilding competition last Sat (19Aug), it was an amazing experience. I can never imagine myself walking in a bikini with confidence, posing way in front of a crowd of audiences... So I did quite well (apparently with the best abs among other girls), I've got lots of positive feedbacks from the judges and friends. I'm proud of myself and I enjoyed every bits of it-:)

The most interesting thing about competiting was, the food I ate throughout the day was junkies! I have had so much choco, jelly beans, banana chips---refine carbs and wine! Since my body was so carb-depleted, once I ate these sugary stuff, my muscles pumped up and vains started to show. Yup! So that's the trick to make me look bigger and harder. I also had to lift weights and do lots of push-ups to pump up my muscles--I felt so much energy in my body!

Left: I took some photos at home during the afternoon break. This is my ab pose--hey I almost have 8 packs!

So there were the morning Pre-Judging rounds and the Evening Show. Not until I finished the morning rounds my trainer told me that all the judging would have been done. The night show will be the routine (my 1 min dance) and unless it was a tight call, it wouldnt affect the results. Um...so I thought...maybe I could win (because I wasnt too confident in doing my routine)

Anyway, the evening show was a bit rush; my category was the first group to get on stage and I didnt have enough time to properly pumped up (not to mention all the food was gone already LOL) I went on stage and did my little dance and my heart was pumping HARD! It was rather scary cos I suck at dancing and I've never dance in front of other people.

Surprise surprise, I was award Best Female Performer in the Manawatu Regional Champ (see photo). So my little dance was worth all the efforts (took Cat and I a long time to figure out what to do...)

I didnt win in my own category (Novice Figure-Short) but I'm still proud of myself getting on stage and went through the whole bodybuilding transformation-:) I was so inspired by other professional bodybuilders; my goal for now is to get bigger and stronger and harder for next year. I will compete again in 2007 and I want to snatch a national title in Novice Figure too!

These links will bring you to more photos of the competition (see how big and strong those pro-am competitors were!)

Okay so that's about my competition, so what's more? There was another thing happened that made this Saturday night so SPECIAL!

YES! I WAS PROPOSED TO ON STAGE!!!

Chris & I are now ENGAGED!!!!
It was all very surprising...he went on stage after the price-giving and once I saw him, I KNEW WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN! I couldnt believe it, I WAS IN SHOCK! After he said all those cheesy lines (yet so sweet and essential!) He got down on his knees (the crowd were screaming!) and asked me to marry him... I was in such shock that I didnt know what to say. I said "I do" (which wasnt the right answer..." then someone in the crowd yelled out "So is it a YES?" then Chris passed me the microphone and I said "Yes.." Then he put the ring on my finger...

Because of this we became the stars of the night (way better than being the champion!) The lady back stage was in tears and many people (who we do not know) came and said congratulations etc...

Yeah so my proposal was really really really special and it was published on the NABBA web site so the whole world can see it online!

I've ordered some photos and the sompetition dvd. Hopefully get them tomorrow and I'll scan some more photos and post them on here-:)

OH I'm the luckiest girl in the world!!!
